  3. <hi style=afpcap>Developed from the Cessna T-50, the C-78 Bobcat was adopted for the Army Air Force as a light personnel carrier. The designation was later changed to UC-78. A total of 1,287 UC-78s were constructed by Cessna, with a further 17 commercial T-50 models impressed into service. </hi>
